  • Comet Nishimura September 6, 2023
I wanted to try for Comet Nishimura but there was a lot of factors working against me. It rose at 3:46 AM Pacific Daylight Time, and civil twilight was starting in earnest by 5 AM PDT. The Moon was nearing last quarter, but worst of all, it was in the light dome of the Tri-Cities of Washington State. There may have also been some high clouds in the way as well.
Nonetheless, I was able to use Pixinsight to process the 30 x 1minute lights. I realized I had accidently left the IDAS NBZ filter in my Celestron C6 HyperStar system, but this may have actually helped with light pollution and dawn.
